"K10K Cancer Awareness Run: 6,500 Join Kauvery Hospital’s Fight Against Cancer!"

Kauvery Hospital Hosts 6,500 Participants in the K10K Cancer Awareness Run,An Initiative to Promote Early Cancer Detection and Prevention. 

 Chennai, 2nd February 2025: In a remarkable show of community support for cancer awareness, over 6,500 participants took part in the K10K Cancer Awareness Run organized by Kauvery Hospital on Sunday, ahead of World Cancer Day on February 4th. The event took place at the Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School in Besant Nagar, Chennai, and aimed to highlight the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer.

The run offered two categories: a 10 km run and a 5 km run,  attracting a wide range of individuals, including fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, families, students, and corporate professionals. This impressive turnout reflects the increasing concern for cancer awareness and emphasizes the life-saving significance of regular screenings and early detection.

Dr A N Vaidhyswaran, Director of Radiation Oncology at Kauvery Hospital Alwarpet, emphasized the significance of early detection, stating, stating that cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. With advancements of treatment available in all specialties in oncology at Kauvery Cancer Institute it is possible to treat cancers and also can get better cure if detected early.  Our goal with this run was to educate the public and encourage them to make regular check-ups a priority. We are grateful to all participants for supporting this important cause.”

Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Hospital, spoke about the advancements in cancer care and the importance of preventive health. “Over the years, cancer care has evolved with more personalized and targeted treatments. Our primary aim is to spread awareness on cancer prevention and early detection, and we are thrilled to see such a positive response from the Chennai community for the third edition of the K10K run. The 10 km run included a variety of age categories welcoming participants of all fitness levels, showcasing winners from both men and women.

ஓட்டத்தில் 6,500 பேர் பங்கேற்றனர்

ஆரம்பகால புற்றுநோய் கண்டறிதல் மற்றும் தடுப்பதை ஊக்குவிக்கும் முயற்சி

சென்னை, 2 பிப்ரவரி 2025: உலக புற்றுநோய் தினம் வரும் 4 ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுவதை முன்னிட்டு சென்னையில் ஞாயிறன்று (பிப்.2) காவேரி மருத்துவமனை K10K என்ற பெயரில் நடத்திய புற்றுநோய் விழிப்புணர்வு ஓட்டத்தில் 6,500 பேர் உற்சாகமாக பங்கேற்றனர். 

சென்னை, பெசன்ட் நகரில் உள்ள ஆல்காட் நினைவு மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளியில், நடத்தப்பட்ட இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி புற்றுநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்வர் களுக்கான சமூக ஆதரவை தெரிவிக்கும் வகையில் நடத்தப்பட்டது. மேலும் புற்றுநோயை முன்கூட்டியே கண்டறிந்து தடுப்பதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைக்கும் வகையிலும் நடத்தப்பட்டது. 

இந்த ஓட்டமானது இரண்டு பிரிவுகளாக நடத்தப்பட்டது. 10 கிமீ ஓட்டம் மற்றும் 5 கிமீ ஓட்டம், பிட்னஸ் ஆர்வலர்கள், தொழில்முறை விளையாட்டு வீரர்கள், குடும்பங்கள், மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் கார்ப்பரேட் தொழில் வல்லுநர்கள் உட்பட பலதரப்பட்ட நபர்கள் இதில் கலந்துகொண்டனர். இவர்களின் ஆர்வமான பங்கேற்பு புற்றுநோய் விழிப்புணர்வில் அதிகரித்து வரும் அக்கறையை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது. மற்றும் வழக்கமான பரிசோதனைகள் மற்றும் முன்கூட்டியே கண்டறிதல் ஆகியவற்றால் உயிரை பாதுகாக்கும் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

காவேரி மருத்துவமனை ஆழ்வார்பேட்டையில் உள்ள கதிரியக்க புற்றுநோயியல் இயக்குநர் டாக்டர் ஏ என் வைத்தீஸ்வரன், கூறுகையில் உலகளவில் அதிக இறப்புக்கு புற்றுநோயே முக்கிய காரணம் என்பதால் அந்நோயை முன்கூட்டியே கண்டறிவது அவசியம் என்றார். காவேரி கேன்சர் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட்டில் புற்றுநோய்க்கு விரிவான முன்னேறிய நவீன சிகிச்சை வசதிகள் உள்ளது என்றார். மேலும் ஆரம்பத்திலேயே அந் நோயை கண்டறிந்தால் விரைவாக குணப்படுத்த முடியும். பொது மக்களுக்கு புற்றுநோய் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வு கல்வியை கற்பிப்பதும், வழக்கமான சோதனைகளுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்க அவர்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதும் இந்த ஓட்டத்தின் முக்கிய நோக்கம் என்றும் அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார். இந்த முக்கியமான காரணத்தை ஆதரித்த அனைத்து பங்கேற்பாளர்களுக்கும் மருத்துவமனை சார்பில் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.

காவேரி மருத்துவமனையின் இணை நிறுவனர் மற்றும் செயல் இயக்குநர் டாக்டர் அரவிந்தன் செல்வராஜ், புற்றுநோய் சிகிச்சையில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள முன்னேற்றங்கள் மற்றும் தடுப்பு ஆரோக்கியத்தின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து பேசினார். 10 கிமீ ஓட்டத்தில் பல்வேறு வயதுப் பிரிவினர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். அனைத்து நிலைகளிலும் உடற்தகுதியுடையவர்கள் ஓட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்க அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். ஆண்கள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் என இரு பிரிவுகளில் வெற்றியாளர்கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டனர்.
