CURTAIN RAISER -Andy Weir, who authored The Martian, came up with another best seller, a science fiction novel, Project Hail Mary in 2021! Drew Goddard has adapted it for the big screen, the sc-fi adventure, produced and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Premiered at London followed by its release in the U.S., the film is acclaimed both critically and commercially, touted to be one of the highest grosser of 2026, till date!

SYNOPSIS- Much to his shock than surprise, Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a science and a molecular biologist, wakes from coma only to realize that is in a spaceship light years away from his home on Earth and is now in a distant star system! As he regains his memory, he recollects his current mission- to dig deep into the mystery behind an odd substance that aims at the extinction of the Sun by initiating a dimming effect caused by a microorganism, named Astrophage! Grace is actually recruited by Eva Stratt (Sandra Huller) who launches Project Hail Mary to probe into the proceedings and to ensure that the Astrophages are destroyed!

*கதைச்சுருக்கம்-* பூமியில் இருந்து பல ஒளியாண்டுகள் தள்ளியுள்ள தொலைதூர நடசத்திர மண்டலத்தில், ஒரு தனித்த விண்கலத்தில் கோமாவில் இருந்து விழித்தெழும் அறிவியல் மற்றும் அணுக்கூறு உயிரியலாளரான Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) மிகவும் அதிர்ச்சியடைகிறார். அவர் தனது நினைவை மீட்டெடுக்கும்போது, ஒரு வினோதமான பொருளின் மர்மத்தை ஆராய வேண்டும் என்ற தனக்கான பணியை நினைவு கூர்கிறார். அப்பொருள், சூரியனின் ஒளியை மங்கச் செய்து, அதை முற்றிலுமாக ஒழிக்கும் Astrophage என்ற நுண்ணுயிரியாகும்.
