Sigma Photo India x PB Photography - World Photography Day Celebration.

PB Photography, in partnership with Sigma Photo India, marked

World Photography Day with FRAMES OF BELONGING: Photography, Community &

Connection - the first program presented as part of their new partnership to create meaningfully

photography experiences, conversations and community-led programs throughout the year.

The evening brought together photographers, artists, educators and photography enthusiasts

for an engaging celebration centred around the evolving role of photography and the importance

of building stronger creative communities.

The program featured an Artist Talk led by Hariharan Gopal, who shared insights into his

photographic practice and also reflected on the work of photographer Ramya Sriram, who was

unable to attend the event due to a medical emergency. The evening also included a special

acknowledgement and wishes for her speedy recovery.

The celebration continued with the panel discussion “Beyond the Feed: Photography in the

Age of Algorithms & AI”, bringing together R. Prasana Venkatesh, Anita Sathiam and

Naveenraj Gowthaman, moderated by Priya Banik. The conversation explored how

photographers can navigate an increasingly algorithm-driven visual culture while continuing to

create meaningful, authentic and relevant work.

This partnership is about creating spaces where photography becomes more than just the

image. It becomes a way to connect people, ideas and stories; to build a year-long program that

encourages photographers to learn, experience, engage and showcase their work within a

strong community.” said Priya Banik, Founder - PB Photography.

The World Photography Day celebration marks the beginning of a larger calendar of programs

curated by PB Photography for Sigma Photo India, including artist talks, panel discussions,

workshops, photowalks, community experiences and opportunities for photographers to

showcase and engage with each other.

The partnership aims to nurture a more connected photography ecosystem in India by creating

accessible platforms for learning, dialogue, experimentation and creative exchange.

FRAMES OF BELONGING is only the beginning - with more stories, conversations and

connections to follow.
