 ESICON 2026 to Bring Together Endocrine Experts, Advance Research and Celebrate Tamil Nadu’s Heritage





Chennai, October 23, 2026: Chennai is hosting ESICON 2026, the 55th Annual Conference of the Endocrine Society of India, at the Chennai Trade Centre from October 22 to 25. The conference brings together clinicians, researchers, trainees and patients from across India and abroad, featuring more than 350 faculty members, including 10 international faculty. The four-day event combines scientific learning, original research, patient engagement and the celebration of Tamil Nadu’s rich cultural heritage.

Advancing Endocrine Science and Clinical Education

ESICON 2026 features expert lectures, plenary sessions, symposia, panel discussions, clinical case seminars and interactive workshops covering key areas of endocrinology, including diabetes, obesity, reproductive health, osteoporosis, thyroid disorders and ageing.

A major highlight of the conference is ISARE (Intensive Self-Assessment and Review), an initiative inspired by structured board-review programmes in the United States. It aims to strengthen core knowledge, enhance clinical reasoning and support endocrinology trainees and practising clinicians.

A special symposium on obesity will focus on emerging scientific evidence, treatment options and multidisciplinary approaches to addressing this growing public-health challenge.

Showcasing Research and Interactive Learning

More than 100 original research works will be presented and discussed at the conference, highlighting clinical experiences, emerging evidence and advances in endocrine science.

For the first time in ESICON’s history, an open endocrine quiz will encourage interactive learning, clinical reasoning and friendly competition among participants, adding an engaging dimension to the scientific programme.

Putting Patients at the Centre

A half-day patient interaction and open discussion programme scheduled for Sunday, October 25, will bring patients together with experts from across India. The sessions will cover type 1 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), women’s health, osteoporosis and thyroid disorders.

The initiative aims to improve disease awareness, address misconceptions, encourage informed decision-making and promote long-term self-management among patients living with endocrine disorders.

Celebrating Tamil Nadu’s Cultural Heritage

ESICON 2026 will integrate Tamil Nadu’s cultural identity into the conference experience. The conference halls are named after Ainthinai—Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Palai—the five landscapes described in classical Tamil literature.

Kadaiveedhi, a recreation of a traditional Tamil Nadu street, will offer delegates a glimpse of local life, while regional cuisine will showcase the state’s diverse culinary traditions.

The conference will also release five publications, including TAPESTRY, dedicated to Tamil Nadu’s traditions and culture. These publications aim to celebrate the region’s heritage and introduce delegates to its cultural richness.

Inauguration and Leadership

The conference inauguration will feature Dr. S. Murthy, M.D., D.M., Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Krishna Seshadri, Chairman of the ESICON 2026 Organising Committee, and Dr. Muthukumaran Jayapaul, Organising Secretary of ESICON 2026, are among the key leaders overseeing the conference.

By bringing together scientific excellence, research, interactive education, patient participation and cultural celebration, ESICON 2026 aims to strengthen professional collaboration, inspire future endocrine specialists and promote compassionate, evidence-based healthcare.
